This very question has been answered for us for the year 2011. A new national study of satisfaction ratings conducted by Insure.com provides a comprehensive view of how consumers feel about the largest auto, home, health and life insurance companies in the U.S.

In addition to the survey results, Insure.com has released a Best Insurance Companies tool which allows consumers to see how their insurer measures up against the competition when it comes to customer satisfaction. The tool breaks out five measurements of satisfaction:

3.Value for the price paid
4.Percent who plan to renew their policies
5.Percent who would recommend their companies

Do you consider yourself to be a good driver? If so, you’ve got lots of auto insurnace companies to compare auto insurance.

>>In a recent survey of 1,000 U.S. drivers by Allstate Insurance, 64 percent of respondents rated themselves as either “excellent” or “very good” drivers. But that confidence in driving ability doesn’t extend far; the respondents said that only 29 percent of their close friends and only 22 percent of people their own age deserved an excellent or very good rating.

The Allstate survey found some significant differences in responses among various groups. For example, while 36 percent of the men surveyed gave themselves an excellent rating, only 26 percent of the women thought they deserved that designation. Thirty-five percent of college-educated drivers considered themselves excellent drivers, while only 28 percent of those without degrees claimed that distinction.

Respondents were in agreement, however, about who doesn’t drive well. Their biggest criticism was saved for teenage drivers; four of every five respondents said teens either were “average” or “poor” drivers. Seventy percent gave senior drivers poor scores. Parents driving with children were rated average or poor drivers by 33 percent of those surveyed; only 26 percent of respondents declared that those parents were good drivers.

Those surveyed also don’t seem to trust their neighbors on the road. Drivers from adjacent states earned ratings of “average” or “poor” from 53 percent of respondents; only 8 percent considered drivers in neighboring states to be “excellent” or “very good.”

In other words, according to the survey, many Americans consider themselves to be good drivers — and nearly everyone else to be maniacs on the road. But even drivers who gave themselves the highest scores acknowledge dangerous behind-the-wheel behavior that was inconsistent with their self-assessments.

More than 70 percent of survey respondents, for example, acknowledged they’ve either caused or almost caused an accident because they were distracted while driving. For young drivers, texting is particularly distracting; 63 percent of drivers ages 18 to 29, and 58 percent of those between 30 and 44 said they have sent text messages while driving.

Almost nine out of 10 surveyed drivers admitted speeding, and 20 percent said they’ve exceeded the posted limits by more than 20 miles per hour. Almost half said they’ve been guilty of driving while tired — and have almost fallen asleep at the wheel. Nearly one-fourth of the men responding (23 percent) confessed to driving while intoxicated. Meanwhile, only 6 percent of women said they’ve driven while under the influence.

It’s perhaps not surprising, then, that more than half (58 percent) of the surveyed drivers said they’ve had an accident, but only 28 percent acknowledge the accident was their fault.

The drivers surveyed — and all drivers who allow their attention to wander when they’re behind the wheel — might do well to ponder some statistics from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to the CDC, more than 15 people are killed and more than 1,200 people are injured every day in the United States in crashes that involve distracted driving. So until drivers learn to stay off their cellphones, put down their travel mugs and refrain from snacking while behind the wheel, it’s questionable whether they actually deserve those high ratings that they give themselves.

Remember the key to low auto insurance rates is your driving record and hence your driving should be perfect!

Recently, it has a number of bad weather in America give. Natural disasters ranging from earthquakes, hurricanes were losing many people to property or serious damage. Driver in America with driving on the road and have to do an accident may be, but many people neglect the likelihood that their vehicle to damage, if not in the it.

Auto insurance companies have different rules for this type of accident. And Allstate can happen commercials about chaos, the vehicles, if you are on the side of them. Flood and water damage, trees, and others in vehicles are all possibilities. Typically auto insurance companies offer some sort of cut rates for individuals because of the risk that these accidents will happen. It is as simple as one person always the Fender Bender, if they are not in the car in the grocery store. This additional coverage options generally, not more money costs, but not every insurance company offers them. Many people had had to file claims with the insurance companies because of Hurricane Irene. Americans, to get the search for a new auto insurance should inform the type of coverage, which is in the case of natural disasters to available. Make sure that this coupled with Collision coverage and comprehensive coverage could be given to help ensure that a person is a policy, the sufficient protection in each of these will occur.

Several prices quotes from the first step in the search online, go to cheap car insurance. Companies such as nationwide, Allstate and GEICO offer different types of strategies and options for drivers in America. Is generally a good idea to get several prices quotes before making a decision from these companies. And many other training offers compare them one American drivers that can find an affordable or cheap auto insurance together.

Marcus Pickett

Fort Collins, Colo., drivers are some of the best on the road, while those in Washington, D.C., are among the worst, according to Allstate’s seventh annual America’s Best Driver’s Report. The report, which ranks the 200 largest U.S. cities, uses Allstate claims data to determine which places are car crash hotspots.

The rankings

Allstate represents about 10 percent of all U.S. auto policies, according to the report. Because Allstate doesn’t serve some markets (Boston, for example), there are some gaps in the data. But the study’s findings still provide “a realistic snapshot of what’s happening on America’s roadways,” according to Allstate.

To determine its rankings, Allstate took into account its auto crash claims and calculated how often the average driver in each city could expect to get in an accident. An auto crash was defined as any collision resulting in a property damage claim. In the winning city, Fort Collins, drivers can expect to get in a collision every 14 years, while those in Washington, D.C., can expect a collision every five years. The national average is about 10 years between accidents.

According to Allstate, the top three safest cities to drive are:

Fort Collins, Colo.Boise, Idaho.Lincoln, Neb.

As for the most dangerous, the top three are:

Washington, D.C.Baltimore.Glendale, Calif.

Looking at the data, a pattern emerges: Larger cities tend to have more collisions. Here are the rankings for the safest U.S. cities with populations of 1 million or more — the “safest” big cities. Not only do none of these cities crack the top 50, but every single one has an auto collision rate that’s higher than the national average.

Phoenix (55 overall).San Diego (117).San Antonio (142).Houston (155).Chicago (157).Dallas (167).New York City (171).Los Angeles (182).Philadelphia (188).

Profile of the winner

Fort Collins has led the Allstate rankings for the past two years, according to the report. In an Allstate release, Fort Collins Mayor Karen Weitkunat credited “the responsible behavior and safe driving habits of our residents.” Extra-wide city streets, an intuitive grid layout, the flat topography common east of the Rocky Mountains and red-light cameras all help create a safe cityscape for drivers.

Congestion means crashes

The Texas Transportation Institute publishes its own annual report, the Urban Mobility Report, which ranks traffic congestion in U.S. cities, as measured by the amount of time motorists spend waiting in traffic. The 2010 report shares traits with the Allstate’s America’s Best Drivers Report. In fact, the most congested metro areas in the Texas Transportation Institute’s report (Chicago, Washington, Los Angeles, Houston and San Francisco) rank poorly in the Allstate report.

Although far from a perfect correlation, the common thread between traffic congestion and safety ratings is population density. As people and vehicles become more closely packed together, the potential for auto accidents goes up. Auto insurance companies take into account the likelihood that you’ll get into an accident when calculating your rate. And if you live in an area where accidents are common, you’ll probably see a higher premium. So, if you’re thinking of making the move to larger city, make sure the larger premiums fit into your budget.

If you are living in any of these cities your auto insurance rate will be very high and hence you need to compare auto insurance to get low auto insurance rates.

derrick mason What’s the difference between PIP and medical payments coverage?

Auto insurance coverages are important to understand

Response : A very good question. Once you understand this you would know what auto insurance coverage you need and why you need. This is important since health expense is an expense you can never put off , you need to be in good health and restort your health to survive. You can put off the repair of the car but can you put off the body issues?

Basic liability insurance covers the injuries you cause to others in car accidents. But what about your injuries? You’ll need to buy extra coverage to cover those. There are two main kinds of coverage that offer payments for a driver’s medical bills after an auto accident: medical payments coverage and personal injury protection (PIP). Here’s how these two types of coverage work.

Medical payments coverage is an optional type of insurance that pays for necessary medical bills for you and your passengers after an accident, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. It will cover you even if you’re the one who caused the accident. The amount of the payout depends on how much coverage you buy; generally, only treatment received within three years of the accident is eligible, according to Progressive. In addition to paying medical bills, medical payments coverage will pay for funeral expenses if you or your passengers die.

Medical payments coverage can end up overlapping with a person’s general health insurance coverage. But for those without comprehensive employer health insurance, medical payments coverage can be a safeguard against the expensive injuries that result from auto accidents.

Personal injury protection (PIP)

PIP pays for medical bills, funeral costs and lost wages after an accident. In states with no-fault insurance systems, it is a required type of coverage. No-fault states require that accident victims collect from their own insurance companies instead of suing the at-fault driver’s insurance company. PIP, which pays out no matter who is at fault, allows them to do that.

Some states that don’t have no-fault systems still require PIP. Texas, for example, requires drivers to buy it unless they sign a waiver specifically rejecting it, according to the Texas Department of Insurance.

Similar but different

If you live in a state that offers both medical payments coverage and PIP (and where both are optional), it’s important to know the differences.

For one thing, PIP covers lost wages, while medical payments coverage does not, according to the NAIC. In other words, PIP will help make up for the wages you missed while recovering and unable to work. Medical payments coverage, meanwhile, pays only for your medical bills.

Another key difference has to do with something called “subrogation.” If you have PIP and you get a settlement from the other driver’s insurance company, you can keep all of the money, according to the website of Robert C. Slim, a personal injury attorney in Dallas. For example, say you get $2,000 from your PIP coverage to pay your medical bills and then sue the other driver’s insurer and get a settlement $5,000. That settlement is yours to keep.

In some states, though, things can get more complicated when it comes to medical payments coverage, as it is subject to subrogation (a legal term for reimbursement). For example, say your insurer pays your medical payments claim and you then get a settlement from the other driver’s insurer. Depending on your state, your insurer might be entitled to part of that settlement as reimbursement for the medical payments claim.

Get your car insurance quote, once you know what coverages you require.

Compare auto insurance quotes with different insurance companies.

Response : Thnaks Andy for this question and having confiedence in us. Compare auto insurance is very simple yet if done skillfully, with information can yeild great savings. Its not just filling in information, but as per your own unique circumstances, getting the best on car insurance both on coverage and low cost .

Auto insurance providers.

Auto insurance providers in America provide various types of coverage for Americans. There are many well-known policy providers such as Nationwide, Progressive and GEICO. There are also other companies such as farmers, safe auto and many others that many Americans are unaware of. Because of the amount of competition in the United States, getting I car insurance is a fairly easy process and people have the potential to save lots of money by doing a little bit of research. Americans looking for cheaper rates on current insurance plans in the month of September has many routes they can take to try and find more for coverage.

How to compare auto insurnce – use auto tools

Auto insurance in America is a necessary, and often required, tool to provide coverage in the event of an auto accident. There are hundreds of thousands of accidents every day and week, and the likelihood that an individual will be in an accident is fairly high. Auto insurance can provide the financial protection, coverage and peace of mind needed to deal or cope with the situations. There are types of coverage such as comprehensive and collision that people use to cover the cost of all damages caused by an accident. But, some people decided to draw different parts of coverage in an attempt to save money. Though this could save a little bit of money on the monthly payment, not having copies of coverage they have an individual paying for all the property and bodily harm costs associated with an accident if they called it. This would leave an individual having to pay thousands of dollars. Most Americans do not have a large amount of money to easily afford an accident by themselves. It is almost always a good idea to have both collision and comprehensive auto insurance even if that means $20 or $30 extra a month. Many individuals are able to get auto insurance policies between $50 and $100, but depending on the individual, it can be more expensive or less expensive. But insurance companies use various risk factors to determine how much a rate should be for a specific individual. If a person is considered to be too risky, they are more likely to pay a higher premium.

There are many companies that provide auto insurance to Americans, and because of the availability of coverage, Americans can easily go online and get rate quotes to determine which company is providing a cheap plan. Is it takes 15 to 20 min. to get a rate quote, and some auto insurance providers will provide multiple rate quotes alongside of their own. Getting multiple rate quotes and pairing them together is one of the best ways for individuals looking for cheap auto insurance to find an affordable car insurance plan.

You should certainly look up insurance quotes, for Geico auto insurance, 21st century, all state insurance, statefarm or usaa auto insurance- ofcourse we have the comparisions here except for state farm – get your insurance quote here.

patti stanger : What hapens if a Volunteer driver is driving the car.? Would he or she have auto insurance coverage?

Review car insurance for volunteer drivers.

Lets review car insuracne for voluneer drivers. Whether driving elderly patients to medical appointments or delivering meals to families in need, volunteer drivers for nonprofit organizations perform a much-needed service for those who don’t have their own wheels. Volunteering time to help others a selfless service — but no good deed goes unpunished for nonprofits if their volunteer drivers cause auto accidents. To avoid any misunderstandings, volunteer drivers and nonprofit organizations must be on the same page when it comes to auto insurance.

Protection for volunteers

Some nonprofits provide vehicles for volunteers to drive while on duty. If that’s the case, the nonprofit’s commercial auto insurance policy would cover any accidents involving a company-owned vehicle, regardless of who is driving, according to the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. That means that volunteers, even though they’re not on the nonprofit’s payroll, would be covered behind the wheel of the organization’s vehicle. Volunteers should make sure they know what a nonprofit’s insurance covers. Does it cover only injuries the driver causes to others? Or does it cover the driver’s injuries as well?

Many volunteers use their own vehicles. In these cases, they would be covered under their own personal auto insurance policies, rather than by any coverage the nonprofit has, according to the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. Therefore, volunteer drivers who use their personal vehicles for their duties need to be sure they have, at the very least, enough liability coverage.

Protection for nonprofits

Relying on volunteer drivers can cut costs for nonprofits and enable them to help more people. But these volunteers also expose nonprofits to liability risks and lawsuits. If volunteers are driving company vehicles, the nonprofit’s commercial policy would cover any accidents they cause. But what if volunteers are using their own cars? Volunteers might lie about their coverage or simply not have enough.

If a volunteer’s personal auto insurance coverage isn’t enough to cover damages after an accident, the victims might sue the nonprofit, according to the Nonprofit Risk Management Center. Therefore, nonprofits might want to consider non-owned vehicle insurance. This type of insurance would cover a nonprofit if anyone working on its behalf causes an accident. It kicks in after any insurance the driver has been exhausted, according to the Nonprofit Risk Management Center.

State laws that protect volunteer drivers and the nonprofits they represent vary. In 2006, the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) performed a 50-state survey to evaluate laws for volunteer drivers.

All states, according to NCSL, have laws that protect volunteers in some fashion. Many provide volunteers with immunity from civil liability if they acted in good faith on behalf of an organization. However, some states offer such immunity only to volunteers for government entities — and some exclude volunteer drivers from immunity.

According to NCSL, some states that do offer protection to volunteer drivers include:

Arizona, which requires insurance carriers to extend coverage to nonprofit organizations for the activities of volunteer drivers. California, which prevents auto insurance companies from writing policies that exclude volunteer driving for nonprofit organizations or government agencies. Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut and Minnesota, all of which have laws that either require or allow state agencies to reimburse a volunteer’s expenses, including payments for liability insurance. Maine, which prevents insurers from charging customers surcharges if they are volunteer drivers.

frances bean cobain : Marriage and life insurance makes sense. How is this related to car insurance or auto insurance. This seems like a movie and melodrama.

>>

Response : Above is a nice video on what car can be utilized for. Getting married in a car!!

Suprised. Weding bells makes a difference to auto insurance or car insurance. Marriage is melodrama and movid. Insurance, car insurance is logic.

Auto insurance and status

Getting married (or entering into a civil union or domestic partnership) means joining two once-separate lives. In addition to combining homes, finances and families, you’ll want to consider joining your auto insurance policies. And that could mean saving money on your auto insurance premium.

Marriage means responsiblity- which leads to low auto insurance rate.

Some insurers, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), offer discounts for married couples . By settling down, you may become more reliable and less risky in the eyes of your insurance company. And that means lower premiums. Men under age 25 could see the biggest discounts, according to State Farm. Single men under 25 are charged some of the highest rates because statistics show they’re riskier drivers. Once they’re hitched, however, their risky behavior has been statistically shown to decrease — and so do their premiums. You get a low auto insurance rate.

Even if your insurance company doesn’t reward you with an automatic discount, married couples can reduce their premiums in other ways, according to the NAIC. For one thing, now that they’re sharing a home, their cars are likely sharing a garage. That means they can share a policy as well and become eligible for multivehicle discounts. Moreover, married couples share a lot more than cars. They share belongings, a home or an apartment. By insuring all these things with the same insurance company, the couple will become eligible for something called a multiline discount.

With rewards comes greater responsibility, however. Just as with joining lives, joining auto insurance policies can have complications. When a married couple combines their auto insurance policies, both drivers’ records will affect the premium for the entire policy. The NAIC recommends that couples consider the following before combining their individual policies:

If your spouse has a poor driving record, this could harm your premiums. Consult with your agent about options like a named-driver exclusion if you’re worried about combining your policies. A named-driver exclusion is an addition to your policy that states your spouse won’t be covered when driving your car. It may bring a lower premium — but remember that if your spouse does crash your vehicle, you’ll be responsible for all associated costs.Your vehicle age and type will affect your premium. Purchasing a larger vehicle, like a minivan or sport utility vehicle, to transport a growing family could affect your premium. If you’ll be transporting children in the near future, you may want to consider increasing your liability or medical payment coverage limits.

Civil unions and domestic partnerships

Couples joined by civil unions and domestic partnerships may be able to get some of the same insurance savings that married couples get. Esurance, for example, extends its married-couple rate to those who are in civil unions or domestic partnerships recognized by a state or another country.

Domestic partners, however, will likely have to show proof of their status to their insurer to qualify for any special married rates. Requirements for getting official documentation vary state by state. In Washington state, for example, registration of domestic partnership’s is handled through the Secretary of State’s Office and costs $50. Couples can register by mail, but the forms must be notarized, according to the state’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

Even without official recognition, couples can qualify for multicar discounts if their cars are kept in the same location. The Oklahoma Insurance Department recommends that domestic partners who share cars list one another as secondary drivers on their own policies. This allows them to borrow one another’s cars regularly.

Yes, if you are married you would get a better ride with car insurance, once you are responsible. Get low auto insurance rate here. It changes your world, your perspective to life and this helps the insurance companies to offer you more.

Should auto insurance companies offer red light camera discount?

When red light cameras reduced accidents, it means lower insurance premiums, loudly from two communities in Florida. Juno Beach has a measure, and Pembroke Pines is considering a measure calling for lower insurance premiums for your driver, because these two cities have red light cameras. Community leaders argue, that these cameras the number of insurance claims – and auto insurance companies should provide these savings to their residents.

In the meantime Beach pass Juno, a town in Palm Beach County, its resolution in July. The resolution cited studies, to tie the accident reduction on red light cameras – and asks insurers to lower rates for drivers in living life in countries that use the cameras. Pembroke Pines (South of Fort Lauderdale) is a regulation which considered approved in Juno Beach.

All in favour of

Security groups, and some studies echo the conviction that cameras reduce red light accidents. Cameras almost 160 life between 2004 and 2008 in 14 major cities of the United States, to Insurance Institute for highway safety (IIHS) stored. If cameras had operated during this time in all major cities, 815 would have been prevented deaths IIHS estimates.

About 500 US cities have compared by IIHS, red light cameras, with about 25 in the year 2000. Just knowing that at the intersection of the cameras is enforced, is enough to delay would-be red light runners. And the cameras things safer for law enforcement and, according to the IIHS. To catch violators at intersections without cameras, lead police to the red light in pursuit, brings drivers in more danger.

Not so fast

Despite this promising research cameras, red light argue opponents, that they can do more harm than good. A 2008 study, in the Florida public health review criticized IIHS research methods and money for the cities that they install and do makes little, the case that the cameras make to save lives.

In fact, according to the study, while the cameras number of fatal accidents from red light reduce the can run, other types of accidents increase, such as crashes collisions. Drivers who might otherwise try over the junction on the last skate be second slam instead on the brakes to avoid a fine and not to leave the cars behind them enough time to stop safely. To do this, one of the reasons are in turn insurance prices in hiking areas, which a lot of these crashes – which means that areas with red light cameras, their car insurance premiums could see, the study to increase.

Technology often gets a bad rap when it comes to safety, as mobile phones. It is a reality that Smartphones apps are a dangerous distractions and this is a well known fact. But are the iphones only a distraction?

Further improvements in the technology can keep yet drivers, safer and better about what happens on the road. Technology companies and manufacturers alike are now experimenting with augmented reality – and the possibilities for driving safety and car repairs.

Augmented reality combined reality with computer-generated features. For example, some smartphone users with applications may be familiar with which a user of the camera of the phone on a company show. The phone screen shows that companies with computer-generated Extras, such as consumer reviews, prices and other similar companies close to (and how far away they are). In other words, that detects device the building and the user view of it with relevant information added.

A new auto security app, iOnRoad, behaves. Attach to driver their smartphones according to Web site of the app a car handle so that the camera on the road is ahead. The phone’s display shows the road as it looks from the window. It shows but also computer-generated graphics showing, where, how many seconds are away the driver is the way beating against the car and the driver’s speed. Following distances in addition color-coded. Close to the drive to another car, which turns “show bubble” the distance from green to yellow to red.

If something gravitates, what the app keeps safe (is dangerous close to hitting the driver of the car before, for example), the application will sound the alarm. Drivers get a visual warning (a screen with the word appears “careful”) and an audio alert. Help drivers to brake in time to prevent accidents, which promises app to reduce the number of accidents – and insurance claims – for those who use it.

Vehicle manufacturers are getting on board too. GM is examining the possibility of the use of augmented-reality windscreens the alerting, you drivers for a variety of hazards (such as an animal, from the front of the car) and help they can navigate Nebula.

Meanwhile, BMW, checks with augmented reality for car repairs. Mechanics of dealers would be able to glide on augmented-reality glasses, which raises certain spare parts and shows virtual animations show, such as the repair should be performed.

One of the major challenges of this technology is sure that the images do not distract the driver from the main view of all – the view of the actual road through the windscreen. But with the right technology and attention to road safety, augmented reality technology could come standard on future models.

Beisdes this, now would an iphone help you to review car insurance coverage, review the road safety, compare auto insurance and get low auto insurance rate since you would have an excellent driving record. Or is it going to be what technology you use in the comming years.!!!

Would appreciate your opinion and comments. Intersting isn’t it?
